We really are in the
21st Century!
We
were amazed when we heard the latest group of people who are
carrying on in this tradition.
Even
benders are now involved in late night raids. They tend
to strike from the back passage, where until now Spooner
has not been defending.
We have
also learnt that these benders are taking more and more people
up the "Marmite Highway" (as they have nick named
it) each and every day.

Santa
comes early this year!
While
the millions around the world are all waiting anxiously for
Father Christmas to visit, our friend Spooner received
his presents earlier than normal.
The
latest reported raid was on on Tuesday 19th
December at 02:45. Spooner was seen to be as
happy as ever jumping up and down with excitement and joy. (See photos from this visit on the Photos page).
How
Ironic?
In an
edition of Melody Maker earlier this year they reported that
in Alanis Morissette's younger years she had been homeless living
in London, and after further investigation we discovered that
she too lived under the Chiswick Flyover.

In
research which involved scouring through many US articles and clippings
on her history we have discovered that she shares
some of her experiences with her audience in a song on her 1995
Jagged Little Pill album, called Ironic.
The
whole songs is claimed to be describing the everyday problems
that Alanis encountered living on the streets.
With
kind permission from Maverick (Madonna's Record Label) we have
listed a verse of the lyrics on the site.
A
traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
After
speaking to Music Mogul Alan Freeman it is revealed that the
line about a "traffic jam" refers directly to
when Alanis found out she was pregnant, while sitting along
the road side in Chiswick.
It
also refers to the huge amount of spoons that the Spooner and
Alanis shared during their short time together on the streets.
